In 2005, we began to supply electricity to the first business customers, and in 2009 to the first household customers. Since then, by focusing on customer needs, the development of innovative products, but mostly through our transparent and affordable offer for customers, GEN-I has grown into the largest supplier of electricity in Slovenia.
The GEN-I Group supplies electricity to all segments of end-customers: households, small business customers, industry and public contracting authorities. All of our supply has been exclusively from carbon-free sources of energy since 2021.

We trade in various types of energy products in 22 countries, from France in the West to Ukraine and Turkey in the East. We have in place an extensive global infrastructure via which we are expanding our trading activity to different geographical markets. We are present on all major energy exchanges within and outside Europe, meaning we rank among the top dealers in the region both in terms of trading volume and trust. Our trading volume reaches approximately 10 times the total consumption of electricity in Slovenia, with the Company ranking highest in terms of trust and respect for a number of years now by the largest international survey among energy dealers: Energy Risk Commodity Rankings.

Fifteen years ago, we challenged established norms and patterns on energy markets and introduced fresh approaches and changes aimed at creating benefits for customers. In the context of challenges faced by rapid decarbonization, our role as the driver of development and innovative approaches is being carried out today in the green and digital transformation of the entire electricity system.
We have adapted our operations by adding green energy services that provide customers with new opportunities to reduce their carbon footprint to our two core services, i.e. the trading and supply of energy products.
With the supply of carbon-free electricity, we also provide customers the possibility of selecting the energy source used to generate their electricity. By promoting the sun as the primary source of electricity, we are the leading provider of self-sufficient solar power plants in Slovenia. We are also expanding our presence in the supply of solar energy to new markets segments and beyond our borders.
