The first GEN-I trading challenge is complete
More than 250 candidates applied for the GEN-I Trading Challenge, which we launched at the end of January. The selection process was challenging, but we decided to give the opportunity to the 150 candidates who best described their motivation to participate.
Lectures on the fundamentals of trading, the role of analytics in trading, setting trading strategies as well as behavioural economics and market psychology provided the participants with all the knowledge they needed to set strategies and think independently about what is happening in the market. They were then able to put what they had learned into practice in a simulated paper trading session, during which we provided mentoring support.
We gathered some interesting information from the trading challenge:
- The participants made 5,992 trades.
- Their total “P&L”, or profit and loss, was $24,464.20.
- As many as 28 of them have made a trade in the last week. Congratulations on your persistence!
The graph above shows the evolution of the “P&L”, i.e. the trading profit and loss, of the participants of the Trading Challenge. The curve shows that day by day and week by week, the participants were making more informed decisions and had better strategies.
The winner will travel to San Francisco in Silicon Valley together with our Geniuses.
Thank you all for your interest and congratulations to those who made it to the end. It has been a real pleasure to meet and learn with you. For those of you who didn’t get a chance to join us this time, we invite you to keep an eye on our website, social networks and for possible new challenges.
