Sustainable development

Employees are the foundation of our success and the key to realizing the vision of a carbon-free future. Already in the first months of employment, we run an onboarding program and a special sustainability program (ZEON, an abbreviation of the Slovenian equivalent for green onboarding – zeleni onboarding) for new employees, within the framework of which they discover the essentials of sustainability, sustainable practices within GEN-I and the company's culture, through interdisciplinary teams working together on new sustainable projects.

We focus on creating a highly attractive and stimulating working environment for top professionals and talents of all generations, prioritizing the growth and development of employees. Aware that work as we know it will change a lot over time, we are looking for future talents who are environmentally aware, curious, eager to learn, and open to diversity, new experiences and approaches. We appreciate the courage and daring to explore unknown areas to find innovative solutions.

We encourage healthy activities and socially responsible practices among employees. By organizing various social and sports events, we take care of nurturing our team spirit even outside of daily working routines.

Our main responsibilities in relation to customers are ensuring a reliable supply of energy at affordable prices and offering the best services, as environmentally friendly as possible. We constantly adapt our business to the needs of our customers by introducing new products, services and business models, implementing promising new technologies and digitalisation of operations.

A more active role for electricity customers is key for transforming the energy industry and addressing climate change. With various projects, we encourage customers to reduce energy consumption, and with our services, we encourage the integration of households, companies and public institutions into renewable energy communities.

In cooperation with the local community, we built the first Slovenian community solar power plant in Budanje and connected its users to form a renewable energy community. Members are provided with long-term savings in electricity costs and share the electricity they produce. In Ajdovščina, we connected five new solar power plants to the network, intended for the renewables self-consumption by community citizens. We accelerate the expansion of energy sharing through renewable energy communities throughout Slovenia.

As a reliable business partner, we continuously strive to develop improvements that raise standards of business cooperation and user experience, contributing to a greater satisfaction of customers and partners in all areas of our business – from households or business customers to buyers of solar power plants or trading partners.

Our sales and back-office processes are fully digitalised, and enable our communication with clients to be even faster and more efficient. We enable anyone to switch to carbon-free electricity by changing the supplier in a fully digitalised process. We enable customers to manage all aspects of their energy supply remotely through the Moj GEN-I portal, where we also offer customers expert recommendations for saving energy.

Sponsorship and donation funds are allocated according to a reactive model; most are dedicated to sports, primarily to local clubs that promote youth sporting activities. In the professional field, we dedicate sponsorship funds for activities aimed at education and training, and the search for the best energy practices and solutions. Our donations focus primarily on charitable causes. We will continue to dedicate financial support to areas that contribute to the development of our activity and that share our vision and mission.
