Successful opening of the exhibition and progress of the project “In Memory of the Greats”
The project “In Memory of the Greats” was one of the three winners of the GEN-I Sustainability Call 2024. As a proud sponsor of the project, we attended the opening of the art exhibition and the project presentation at the Monfort Exhibition Ground in Portorož on 27 January 2025. The project highlights the importance of preserving the noble pen shell (Pinna nobilis), the largest Mediterranean bivalve, which has been on the brink of extinction in recent years.
The exhibition, featuring works by international artists, impressed visitors with its diversity and the creative use of natural materials such as clay, metal, stone, wood, and glass. Each artwork expressed the importance of marine ecosystem conservation in its unique way, as well as the fragility of this magnificent species.
A particularly fascinating aspect of the project is the upcoming symbolic submersion of these artworks into the sea, where the sculptures will become part of the marine ecosystem itself, fostering new life. With this initiative, we aim to contribute to the restoration of marine habitats and raise further awareness of the importance of ocean conservation.
The event was a great success and left a lasting impression on all attendees. The exhibition will be open to visitors at the Monfort Exhibition Ground until 9 February 2025, from 10:00 to 17:00. We invite you to visit and join us in our efforts to protect the marine world.
